Can I sell clothes that are not for the current season?
Due to the growth of our sale and limited space, we are asking that consignors limit their clothes to seasonal items. We have found that the racks are just too full to accommodate multiple seasons.

Are there any items that cannot be sold?
Yes. We do not accept car seats (boosters are okay), drop-sided cribs or perishable items.

How do I tag my items?
We are excited to announce that we have moved to a bar coding system for tagging items.  There are many benefits to the new system, including:

• Huge time savings! You enter your tags online, which is much more efficient and time effective than manually writing tags
• You can also print a Donation List for your tax filings.
• Your account will be updated so that you can view which items sold at our sale prior to receiving your check
• You can calculate your potential sales in dollars
• The system will allow you to receive your checks more quickly than you would with a manual system
• You can transfer unsold items to future sales without creating new tags

Am I required to use the online tagging system?
Although we feel that this process will be a huge benefit and we would like all of our consignors to use it, it is not required. However, you will be charged a 25¢ per tag fee for all hand-written tags. If you choose to create tags by hand, please email mychildsclosetbiz@yahoo.com for more information.

What do I do if I cannot print my tags?
If you do not have a printer, you can save the pdf file on a disk or zip drive and take it to Staples or another store with print capability. Most places will also receive files via email. 

What percentage of sales do I receive?
Consignors receive 60% of sales. Many other sales only pay consignors 50%. If you consign and volunteer, you will earn 65% of your sales.

Can I use a stroller while shopping at the sale?
Yes. We will do our best to make it possible to navigate the sale while pushing a stroller.

Where do my donated items go?
All donated items will be donated to Door of Hope.

Is there an admission fee for the event?
No, the sale is free to shoppers. There is a $7 fee to consign, which is automatically deducted from your post-sale check.

Who is allowed to shop at the Pre-Sale?
Only registered consignors and volunteers may attend the Pre-Sale. We will ask for your consignor id at the entrance.

Can I bring my husband/wife/relative/friend with me to the Pre-Sale?
No, only registered consignors may attend. If you have someone else who would also like to shop on the Pre-Sale, have them register and consign or volunteer with us.

Can I bring children to the Pre-Sale?
If you have an option for child care for a few hours during our Pre-Sale, we’d like to encourage you to consider that option. However, if you have no alternatives for baby-sitting, your children are welcome, but MUST remain with you at all times.

Is there a minimum or maximum number of clothes or items that I can bring?
No. However, due to the growth of our sale and the large number of items being sold, we ask that you limit your items to seasonal items.

Is this event held more than once a year?
Yes, this is a semi-annual sale. It is held once in the Spring and Fall.

Where do I find safety pins and hangers?
Safety pins and clothes hangers can be purchased at national discount chains as well as dollar stores. Some dry cleaners will give you hangers if you ask. Freecycle.org is a great source for free hangers.
