Do you have items you’d love to sell on consignment, but just can’t find the time to tag and prepare them? My Child’s Closet is pleased to offer our Concierge Tagging Service. To participate, please email mychildsclosetbiz@yahoo.com. We will send you a list of available concierges, along with their rates, fees, and any other information, as well as a Concierge Consignor Agreement. You can select which concierge to work with and make arrangements directly with her. Simply drop off your completed form with your first batch of items, and wait for your check in the mail!

To learn more about this service, please review the FAQ below:

Can I tell the Concierge how much I’d like to ask for my items?
No. One of the main advantages to using a Concierge Tagger is the opportunity to rely on her knowledge of the consignment process and her sense of the optimal price to ask for items. If you have an item that is particularly valuable, you are welcome to include a note with your item (ie. This currently sells for $195.99 new on Amazon) to guide the pricing process, but you cannot dictate the final price.

What about the Half-Price Sale?
You can let your Concierge know your preference regarding whether or not you would like to sell your items at half-price if they remain unsold after the Main Sale. You can provide a blanket choice, or your selection can vary based on the item. (Example: you might be happy to sell virtually all of your items at half-price, except for that beautiful hand-carved cradle. You can simply request that your Concierge not mark the cradle to sell for half-price.)

What happens to my unsold items after the sale?
That is entirely up to you. You can choose to have your unsold items donated on your behalf, in which case you will receive a donation form to submit with your taxes. You are also welcome to pick up your unsold items after the sale if you want them back; please visit our post-sale information page (http://www.mychildscloset.com/post.htm) for all the details.

Do I need to place my clothing items on hangers before dropping them off?
No, your concierge will take care of hanging your items for you. However, if you happen to have extra hangers, please include them with your drop-off. Our Concierge Taggers can always use more hangers!

Do I need to register online as a consignor?
No, you do not need to register online if you are ONLY planning to use the concierge service. We will handle your account set-up for you. Of course, you are welcome to set up your own account in addition to the concierge account if you would like to tag some of your items yourself.

How many items can I drop off with my Concierge at one time?
This will vary by concierge but, in general, there are no upper limits if you sign up at least a month before the sale. As the sale date draws closer, the Concierge may need to limit the number of items per drop-off as her client load increases.

What happens to items I drop off that are rejected by the Concierge?
It’s up to you. You can pick them up at your next drop-off, or at some other mutually agreeable time. If you prefer, you can ask your Concierge to donate the rejected items.

Can I drop off small items (like Matchbox cars or small baby rattles) that would be priced at less than $1.00?
Yes. Your Concierge will be happy to batch similar small items together and price them as a lot.

What condition do my items need to be in when I drop them off?
All items brought to your Concierge need to be clean and ready to be sold. Toys, games, and equipment must have all parts and pieces, and anything battery-operated needs to be delivered with working batteries. The Concierge’s job is to price, store, and deliver items, not to clean them.

Is there anything else I need to do when I drop off my items?
In general, nothing else is required. Your Concierge will probably request that you label all of your boxes/bags with your Concierge Consignor Number to avoid confusion in case of multiple client drop-offs on the same day.

Will I still be eligible to shop the consignor pre-sale?
Yes. If you choose to use the Concierge service, you are still considered a consignor and are still invited to shop the consignor pre-sale. For even earlier pre-sale access, consider volunteering. You’ll get to shop the Volunteer pre-sale and earn an extra 5% of your item sales.

How soon will I receive my consignor check?
Your check will be processed at the same time as all other consignor payments. You can expect to have your check in hand within two weeks of the end of the sale. (However, it is very likely that you will be paid even sooner.)

I am interested in working as a Concierge Tagger. Are you accepting new concierges?
If you have consigned (and tagged your own items online) for at least one previous My Child’s Closet sale, you may be considered for a tagging position for one of our upcoming sales. If you are interested or have further questions, please email me at mychildsclosetbiz@yahoo.com.
